Teaching voice
is not a
"one-size-fits-all" endeavor
You deserve to sing!
Hi! I'm Emily. Teaching voice is my calling and passion, and I have a decade of experience helping singers grow their technique, artistry, and confidence. My studio is a safe space, a place where singers can be themselves, explore their voices, and feel comfortable making mistakes. I gently help artists shed perfectionism to embrace the journey of vocal growth and, ultimately, express their truth through song.
As a voice teacher, I believe it is my job to recognize and honor each of my students’ unique gifts and challenges: to empower each student with a functional, efficient vocal technique that will help them bring their music to life. My teaching is rooted in a deep and continual study of anatomy and physiology, body mapping, voice repertoire and style, voice science and acoustics, mindfulness, and psychology. I believe it is through my own commitment to lifelong learning that I am able to best serve my students.
I teach voice and vocal pedagogy at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, where I work with both musical theater and classical singers. My private voice studio is comprised of singers of a variety of ages and backgrounds, ranging from avocational to professional. Whether you prefer to sing musical theater, classical music, or pop, aspire to the perform on the great stages of the world or just to sing on key in the shower, I am committed to helping you sing with a greater degree of ease, freedom, and joy. Singing is a profoundly healing endeavor, and I'd love to be part of your journey!
As a singer with a history of voice injury and vocal fold surgery, I am particularly passionate about helping students struggling with voice impairment. I regularly refer students to the Massachusetts General Hospital Voice Center for voice care and have experience working with singers recovering from voice injury in consultation with the skilled Speech-Language Pathologists at MGH.
